Dear Mrs. Pronk,
Thank you again for your generous support of the Juba Orphanage. The money you provided on behalf of the Dutch school children has been used to purchase wall fans, school uniforms and clothing for the orphans. We initially planned to install ceiling fans, but this proved impractical from an engineering point of view so wall fans were used instead. The results have been a complete success as illustrated by the smiling faces in the pictures attached.
Exchanging the 2000 Euros in Juba was a daunting task. The only bank in town willing to deal in Euros offered an exchange rate of 200 SD for 1 Euro which was pure highway robbery. We opted to sell the Euros to UNMIS personnel and raised a total of 554,600 SD, a considerable improvement over the bank rate.
The money was spent as follows:

I will hand deliver the original receipts to Mr. Pronk’s office. The Juba Orphanage Project and the remaining 82,900 SD are now in the hands of Cmdr Rune Pedersen, Deputy Chief of Staff, JMCO. These remaining funds have been earmarked for additional uniforms and clothing. Once these final transactions are complete, Cmdr Pedersen will forward you the receipts.
In one week I will be back home in Canada. The time spent on the Juba Orphanage project was some of the most rewarding work of the Mission for me, and I would like to pass on my sincere gratitude to you, mrs. Pronk and the Dutch friends and the Dutch school children For geberously assisting in this worthy project.
With best regards,
John
